As autumn approaches, Hard Labor Creek State Park is getting into the spirit of spooky season with ranger-led evening and fall-themed programs, a few favorites are:

Blacklight Night Hike (9/18, 8:30 PM) – Guided 1-mile walk using UV lights to search for glowing scorpions, millipedes, and fungi.
Night Sounds Walk (9/25, 8:30 PM) – Guided stroll listening for nocturnal wildlife, frogs, and birds.
Spooky Archery (10/3, 4, and 10, 11:00 AM) Try your hand at spooky archery with monster targets.

Madison Lions Club Fair / 70th Anniversary at Lions Club Fairgrounds

Come celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the 2026 Madison Lions Club Fair, a classic country fair featuring carnival games and rides, fair food, bakeoffs, agricultural exhibits, and more.

20th Annual Chili Cook-off & CASI GA State Championship Open Cook-Off in Madison Town Park

The fun begins at 10:00 a.m. with regional artisan crafts, seasonal foods, a pumpkin decorating contest, and live music on Second Street. Get in line at noon for your $5 sampling wristband. Tasting starts at 12:30 p.m. sharp, so you can cast your vote for the People’s Choice award before the winners are announced at 3:30 p.m.
